The Lover Arcanum is the Carnal Arcanum. Only when the human experience has been fully explored can the lesson of the Fall be learned. To understand the full spectrum of carnality, sensations from the past must be kept alive in the present. The gates of the body are the keys designed to open up the full range of experience. The Golden Path was designed around physical humanity, after all, and Agartha is Illuminated Pleasure.
The Lover considers Incarnation to be part of the lesson of Agartha, and a particularly enjoyable one at that. Simulacra of the Lover Arcanum are treated very well indeed, at least physically, although they are not always well maintained. All the pleasures of the flesh are enjoyed. Lovers often show the deleterious affects of such pleasures, especially after one or two decades. They are sometimes overweight, bleary eyed, red-nosed, burned out, or otherwise debilitated. They tend to be polyamorous, and therefore have difficulty maintaining a simulacrum’s existing relationships. They also tend to get into trouble both physically and legally when they delve into substance abuse.
The Lover lives almost exclusively in the mundane world, indulging in the pleasures it offers. Their only interest in the esoteric is usually centered around its ability to enhance their senses.
